Job Description

GEMS Education is looking for an innovative Director of Learning – Arabic to lead the Arabic Department.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience of teaching Arabic and a proven track record of successful student achievement. Genuine alignment with the philosophy of the IB and the values embodied in the Learner Profile are desirable, as is a passion for working in our truly diverse community. 

The ideal candidate will preferably have: 

  • A certified professional teaching qualification at degree level, such as B. Ed, PGCE, PGDE or equivalent with a specialism in teaching Arabic at Primary and/or Secondary School 
  • A varied and demonstrable Arabic teaching experience in Primary and/or Secondary schools
  • A proven track record as a successful leader of curriculum (especially in the context of regulatory inspections) 
  • An experience in a similar supervisory/leadership role with teaching and learning and team management responsibilities
  • The experience, personality and educational philosophy to continue to drive the Inclusion agenda at one of our schools with a truly diverse and international student body
