Overview
Job Description
- Organize, prepare and manage all science experiments and practicals under the guidance of the Head of Department
- The overall maintenance of Design Technology labs and organization of experiments
- Maintain and update register of Lab equipment.
- Maintain and update register of chemicals and other consumables.
- Prepare Lab experiments and practicals in coordination with the Head of Department and Teachers.
- Responsible for keeping the labs organized and clean in coordination with the Head of Department and Teachers.
- Report breakage/damage of equipment to Head of Department.
- Responsible for safety procedures in the Labs in coordination with other members of the department
- Prepare annual list of consumables, glassware and equipment in conjunction with Head of Department
- Ensure Labs are locked when not in use.
- Ensure the GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct are followed at all times.
- Initiate effort and energy beyond the typical workday, where the tasks require additional commitment.
- Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required.
- Perform other duties as requested by direct & dotted reporting line managers / supervisors.
Skills
- Masters Degree in Physics
- Good interpersonal skills, able to work effectively with staff and students
- Attention to detail, organized and a team player Experience:
- Minimum of one year’s experience in a similar position
