Job Description & Summary

Our Healthcare Strategy team offers strategic advice to a broad range of stakeholders – healthcare operators, pharmaceuticals and life sciences organizations, leading private equity houses, family offices, major banks, funds, and companies undertaking mergers and acquisitions or investment opportunities. We deliver deep strategic, commercial and operational insights to help clients think through investment/divestment decisions about businesses. We advise our clients on critical operational and transformational challenges, and evaluate business plans and company strategies against market performance and competitor strength, to deliver a rigorous appraisal of a business’ commercial and operational outlook. Our main focus is to deliver top strategy-led solutions to our clients.

Responsibilities

As a Healthcare Strategy Director, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  •  Overseeing the successful delivery of projects, which may include multiple projects at a time, while leading a team of 6-8 consultants 

  • Working with existing operators, private equity platform on defining their investment agenda e.g. new market entries 
    market strategies for new investments, capital allocation

  • Conducting market assessments and financial feasibilities on new investments 

  • Commercial and vendor due diligence

  • Participate in strategy and operations engagements for our clients

  • Framing and understanding key client issues, client processes and mandate, defining realistic expectations for the client, team, and PwC

  • Managing the client relationship on a day-to-day basis and other stakeholders

  • Structuring and ensuring the development of written reports encompassing the relevant analysis, findings and recommendations

  • Managing client expectations and ensuring that the scope of work

  • Managing project budget, reporting on project costs, and managing  payment collection

  • Support in driving the business development agenda in a focused industry, including leading pitches and proposal work

  • Contributing to the wider business unit through knowledge sharing, recruitment, mentoring, training and other activities 

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in a strategy consulting firm

  • Hands on experience with Healthcare enterprises or Pharmaceuticals industry

  • Proven record of success in commercial due diligence or corporate strategy roles

  • Hands on experience with assisting clients in strategic planning and business reviews; growth, market entry and international expansion; and market opportunity sizing

  • Significant understanding of mergers, integrations, spin-offs and/or divestiture transactions, including options analyses and recommendations

  • Motivated to develop and manage client relationships 

  • Ability to deliver significant business results that reflect strategic and creative thinking and individual initiative

  • Confident to manage multi-resource engagements: using work plans to manage day-to-day execution, removing roadblocks, proactively asking for help, effectively communicating up, down and laterally.

  • Comfortable providing direction, coaching and guidance to junior resources

  • Excellent writing, communicating, facilitating, and presenting capabilities for all levels of audiences

  • Willingness to multi-task and balance time effectively

  • Understanding advanced analytics and big data is preferred

  • Arabic speaking considered a plus

  • Your flexibility to travel 20% of the time. This means we may require you to work away from your base office location on a regular basis and frequent overnight stays may be required. Where possible, we will take your preferences into account and strike a balance between meeting your career development/personal needs and those of the business and our clients.
